Matthew Hirschey, PhD

Principal Investigator

Matthew Hirschey, PhD

Dr. Matthew Hirschey is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology & Cancer Biology at Duke University. He received his PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and completed postdoctoral training at the Gladstone Institutes at UCSF.

His research focuses on understanding how cells sense and respond to nutrients, with particular emphasis on metabolic signaling in metabolic diseases, cancer, and aging. He has received numerous awards and has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers. Dr. Hirschey is passionate about leveraging computational approaches to accelerate discovery in metabolism research.
